General skills

In order to study online you need to have some basic computer skills. Assess your general computer skills by asking yourself the following questions:

  1. Can I use a computer mouse?

  2. Can I use a keyboard? (You don't have to be an expert at typing!)

  3. Am I open to learning new things on the computer?

  4. Can I use a word processor (eg Microsoft Word)?

If you answered "yes" to most of those questions, you will probably have enough general computer skills to study online.

This section of the Guide will give you information about word processing, viruses and ettiquette on the internet (netiquette). Click on the links below to find out more information on any of these topics.
